Photos for Life: a 365 project.

I wanted to tell everyone about a fun new project that I am involved with!

My new year's resolution this year was to take a photograph everyday and at the end of the year put the images together in a book and see how I grew as a photographer. Then I realized how much work that would be and how realistically, with a seven month old baby and ever growing client list (which I am so thankful for by the way), I would not be able to take a different and interesting shot every day. So I asked Sarah Cramer of Cramer Photo to do it with me.

Then I got to thinking, I wanted to give this project more meaning rather than it just being a personal project. So Sarah and I recruited 5 other photographers to join us. Each photographer is going to contribute one image a week. Each image will be for sale as a print individually and the whole collection will be available as a coffee table book at the beginning of 2011. All the proceeds from the print and book sales will be donated to Charity Treks. Charity Treks is a non-profit that supports the UCLA AIDS Institute and Emory Vaccine center. Every August, riders cycle about 450 miles in 5 days to raise money and awareness for this wonderful cause. My husband, Chris, is a rider and I volunteer with Charity Treks each year, and it is such a humbling and truly wonderful experience so I am so excited to be able to do anything I can in support of all the wonderful people that are a part of it!

Prints will be sold at $20 for an 8x10, $30 for an 11x14, and $40 for a 16x20 and can be purchased at any time. I will post a link as soon as I get it up and running!
