Yummy Dinner | Charlottesville Food Photographer

I love good food. I had to try this easy-peasy recipe I found yesterday (which is right up my alley because with a 2-year-old and a business, I don't exactly have a ton of time to cook). Mainly because it calls for beer. And it had the word "German" in the title. We're German and we love beer.  Done. Did I mention my hubby is working on opening a brewery...stay tuned for more info on that... but for now...

German Pork Chops with Onion Beer Sauce:

What you need:
Organic Butcher pork chops. Don't by them at the grocery store. They're just not the same.
1 cup of beer (I used an oatmeal porter because that's what we had - anything dark-ish would be good)
two small onions, sliced
one green bell pepper, diced
a couple cloves of garlic, minced
1.5 cups of beef broth
flour
2 tsp paprika
salt and pepper

Season the chops with s&p, dredge in flour, plop them in some hot oil for 3 minutes on each side. Remove chops, add onions, garlic, and peppers to pan. Cook for 5 minutes then add beef broth and beer, 1 tbs of flour, and paprika. Add the chops back in and let simmer for 1 hour. Serve over german spaetzle and broccoli, and enjoy.
